Financial Advisor FAQ

We typically work with high net worth individuals, institutions and other financial advisors.

More importantly, we seek serious long-term investors who are looking for a straight-forward, evidence based approach for reaching their financial goals.

We help simplify our clients’ financial situations by working together to build an investment plan to help them reach their goals.

We do not speculate.

We do not time markets.

We do not buy/sell individual stocks.

We use a quantitative approach based on well-established academic theory to create broadly diversified investment portfolios. These portfolios include exposure to U.S. and international stocks, fixed income securities, real estate and cash. We emphasize global diversification to improve expected portfolio risk/return characteristics.

Low cost investments like exchange-traded funds (ETFs), market-tracking mutual funds and index-based mutual funds are used to implement this approach.

We use independent, nationally recognized brokerage firms, such as Charles Schwab and TD Ameritrade, to open accounts on our clients’ behalf.

We are a fee-only advisor and charge a fixed-fee based on assets under management. Our fee structure is the following:

Initial $1 million: 0.80% annually

Next $4 million: 0.60% annually

Over $5 million: 0.40% annually

Sub-advisory relationships are pre-negotiated.
